CTV Two Atlantic invites Canadians to a down-home Maritime party this New Year’s Eve. Airing live and in HD on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 10 p.m. AT on CTV Two Atlantic (ASN – check local listings), Greco Party on the Parade delivers a New Year’s Eve of high-energy performances from top Maritime talent. The two-and-a-half-hour special is hosted by CTV Morning Live’s Heidi Petracek, Tina Simpkin, and Cyril Lunney, live from Halifax’s Grand Parade.
CTV Two Atlantic’s CTV Morning Live team takes on the joyous night shift, hosting the live event which has become a Halifax New Year’s Eve tradition for the past 20 years. CTV unites countless Maritimers across the country with the thousands of Haligonian revellers in attendance, as Canadians count down the New Year with their friends “down home.”
Greco Party on the Parade features a diverse range of music – from mainstream to Motown – headlined by New Brunswick-born JUNO-Award winning artist, David Myles. Willie Stratton & The Boarding Party warm up the crowd with hard-hitting folk tunes, followed by Blueberry Grunt, who are returning to Greco Party on the Parade for yet another year. The thirteen-member party band Asia and NuGruv count down to midnight with their classic Motown sound.
“Greco Party on the Parade has become a go-to event for families in our region and the soundtrack of many Maritime house parties for two decades,” said Michael Elgie, Vice-President and General Manager of CTV Atlantic. “We are delighted to continue this New Year’s Eve tradition, celebrating with Maritimers here in Halifax and those tuning in from around the region and across the country.”
“Halifax Regional Municipality is pleased to continue this music-filled New Year’s tradition,” said Halifax Mayor Mike Savage. “I’m looking forward to celebrating with the families gathered at the Grand Parade, and with viewers from across Canada who can enjoy our region’s musical traditions and down-home hospitality.”
Greco Party on the Parade is produced by CTV Two Atlantic in partnership with the Halifax Regional Municipality, and sponsored by Greco Pizza and Beauti-tone Paints (available at Home Hardware), FlyHalifax.com, and the Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan.
