Away in a Manger, Singing For Supper, and New Album!

December 11, 2019

Hi folks,

Every year, around this time I pick up my guitar and start refreshing the ol’ Christmas tunes. And slowly I feel a smile come across my face and I’m reminded how much I love this time of year and these amazing songs! When I made a Christmas record my main goal was to make something I would actually be excited to play year after year. And friends, I’ve got to say, I think I’ve succeeded. I still love it. And this year, we’ve got something special to add to my collection of Christmas songs. We recorded a trio version of “Away In A Manger”, inspired by the amazing Louvin Brothers. You wait until you hear Al sing that beautiful high harmony! I think you’re going to love it! What a beautiful song too. Check it out, share it with your friends and loved ones!

In other news, we’re heading out for our 10th annual Singing For Supper tour again this year!! Can you believe it? Ten years! We’ve raised over $80k for food banks in New Brunswick since we’ve started. It just gets bigger and better every year. I really would love to break the $100k mark this year! But I need your help. Please come out and tell your friends. Bring a donation of money or food and the food banks will be on hand to collect those donations right after the show. See the dates and details below.

And lastly, 2020 will bring a new David Myles record my friends!! That’s the truth. It’s been an insane and amazing process making this record. I’ll talk about it a lot more later on but let’s just say I’ve never worked so hard on anything and I’m super proud of it. I think you’re really gonna dig it. I wanted to make something that feels like a great James Taylor record. Pretty pumped with how it turned out. I’m gonna include a playlist of some of my influences as of late to give you a little idea of where I’m at. Listen here!

I hope you’re all doing really well. I look forward to seeing some of you in December and if we don’t talk before then, have a really Happy Holiday!

All the best,
