He shows up every year at this time, goes quickly from city to city, is a snappy dresser and gets his picture taken with kids in the mall. Must be… no, not Santa, it’s New Brunswick’s own David Myles, back in the province once again for his 4th annual Singing for Supper Tour. Every Christmas season Myles puts on the suit, heads back to N.B. and plays songs to support food banks.
No, you don’t buy a ticket and you don’t go to a club or theatre. Instead, you’ll find him in the malls, and at an easy time, too, the noon hour. You show up for the show, and bring along some non-perishable food donations, or cash, and the little elves will be around to collect. You’ll get a few of his hits, recent songs from his new set In The Nighttime, and maybe a festive one or two, with the David Myles Band in tow. The set is well over an hour too, so he’s really giving it all.
And once again, it’s in partnership with CBC New Brunswick, so we’re pretty excited around the office too. Come check out the shows this coming week. It starts at the Champlain Mall in Dieppe on Wednesday, Dec. 11, then on to the Regent Mall on Thursday, Dec. 12, and wraps up in Saint John in Brunswick Square, Friday the 13th. Don’t forget those donations.
