The East Coast Music Hour with David Myles to debut Saturday, Oct. 4 on CBC Radio
David Myles will take to the airwaves on CBC Radio One and Radio Two on Saturday, Oct. 4 as host of a new performance program in Atlantic Canada.
The Juno and multiple ECMA Award-winning singer/songwriter will feature emerging and established artists in a wide range of musical genres on The East Coast Music Hour with David Myles.
“David has an intimate knowledge of the music culture of eastern Canada and knows many of the great musicians that live and perform here,” says Peter Hall, CBC Atlantic’s Senior Manager of arts and documentary programming. “We are excited that David is going to be part of this new program, which will be more active than ever creating signature events which will bring together musicians, our audience and CBC.”
The East Coast Music Hour with David Myles will blend two regional music programs – Atlantic Airwaves that aired in the Maritimes and The Performance Hour that was broadcast in Newfoundland and Labrador.
“I’m totally thrilled about this project with the CBC. There’s not much I like more than bragging about all the amazing music that comes from this part of the country.” says the Fredericton-born, Halifax-based Myles. “It’ll be an honour to get to do it every week.”
Tune in to The East Coast Music Hour with David Myles on Saturdays at 10 a.m. (10:30 a.m. NL) on CBC Radio Two and 5:05 p.m. (5:35 p.m. NL) on CBC Radio One. Its content will be available online and on digital platforms as well as contribute to CBC Music.
