CTV's Maria Panopalis and David Myles

May 14, 2013

I had the extreme pleasure of welcoming David Myles back to Section Six tonight. The Fredericton-native just won his first Juno for “Inner Ninja’… his collaboration with Classified. While he’s psyched about the win, he admits he never imagined his first Juno (or any award) would be for a rap song!

Having said that, it turns out David and Classified are a dreamtime of writers. Not only has “Inner Ninja” gone triple platinum in Canada, it just became the best-selling hip hop song in Canadian music history! Not too bad for a couple of Maritime kids, huh?

David Myles’ latest album, In The Nighttime, is due on shelves and iTunes Tuesday. By the way, “Inner Ninja” just had its international debut and so far it’s charting in places like Germany, South Africa and the Netherlands! Impressive.

And there’s more music on the way! Tomorrow David releases his latest album “In The Nighttime”. It’s a double CD composed of smooth love songs and vintage pop. The entire offering is an exquisite tribute to David’s stellar writing and exceptional playing. In case you’re looking for more collaborations, Classified produced the second CD… it’s been coined “The After Party”… and it’s awesome! You will not be disappointed if you add In the Nighttime to your collection.

A big thanks to David for stopping by tonight! Always a pleasure!
