June 23, 2009

Just got back from a wild weekend in Toronto. I played a few shows in the Toronto area. Had a great time playing with Peter Elkas at Centre in the Square in Kitchener. Also played a cool festival in Ayton, Ontario with the band, which was great.

The other remaining hours of my weekend were spent rocking the trumpet with Classified. On Sunday night, I played trumpet as part of his horn section on the Much Music Video Awards. It was insane. Kind of felt like I was on an episode of Entourage. Hilarious times. Classified kicked ass and won the award for Best Hip Hop Video. And, if I may say, I think his live performance came off looking wicked. You can watch it here. Check out the close up on the horn section!!

Other highlights of the evening included sharing an elevator with Lady Gaga’s disco stick, having the Jonas Brothers wish us good luck as they walked by before we went on stage and seeing The Black Eyed Peas, Tila Tequila, Reggie Bush and Girlicious. However, for me the most exciting celebrity encounters were getting to meet Chris Bosh (4 time NBA All star) and Alexander Ovechkin (2 time NHL MVP). I’ll attach some photos. It was hilarious and I felt like a tool for bothering them but I had to. I’m glad I got the photos. I thought I was a relatively tall dude until I saw how this Chris Bosh photo turned out. Wow. Enjoy.
Thanks for the visit.
Talk to you soon,
