What a month and a half. Since I last chatted with you I’ve played 61 shows! Insane. All good though. It was a great run. A bunch of shows in Vancouver out at the Olympics (all 48 were full houses!), the ECMAs in Sydney, Cape Breton, a tour of Northwestern Ontario and a sweet gig in Whistler during the Paralympics. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to the shows and to everyone at Atlantic Canada House at the Olympics and Paralympics. Big thanks also to the musicians I shared the stage with for the 45 show run in Vancouver, Meaghan Blanchard, Daniel Payne and Monique Poirier.
In other very exciting news, you may have noticed that things have changed around here at davidmyles.com. That’s right it’s new album time!! The new record “Turn Time Off” is printed and ready to roll. It will be available in stores and online April 20th. I’m so pumped. There’s a few tunes up now on my facebook and myspace pages. Check em out and let me know what you think. I hope you dig them. Also, I’ve got some big shows coming up in April. April 16th I’m playing with Symphony Nova Scotia at the Rebecca Cohn! It’s going to be wild and wicked. I’m doing 8 songs fully orchestrated for the symphony and then a bunch of tunes with the trio. The next night, I’m playing a show at the beautiful Imperial Theatre in Saint John with Rose Cousins. And, finally, I’ll be rocking my hometown of Fredericton, New Brunswick at the Playhouse on April 22nd. Two sets, full band. It’s kind of a dream really. The first time I played the Playhouse, I was in grade 5 playing a toy trumpet (I’ve been trying to redeem myself ever since!).
Thanks as always for the visit. There’ll be lots going on in the next few weeks. Exciting times. You rule.
