On The Line – The Coast

March 22, 2010

“On the Line, is a solid third LP that capitalizes on Myles local momentum quite nicely. The guitar-drum duet at the very beginning of opener "I Don’t Want To Know" makes a declarative statement of sorts, underscored by Myles first reference to the albums title: There’s too much on the line, there’s too much at stake. It comes up again on the smoky hinge track, Cape Breton, an ode to Myles love that recalls the first time they kissed: With our minds on our hearts/and our hearts on the line. This kind of crossover appeal is what makes Myles a contender; On The Line swings for the win.”
