From halfway through its opener, the soft, poppy Out of Love, this thing has you
David Myles has been a respected singer/songwriter for years, so Turn Time Off isn’t some odd, out-of-nowhere surprise. That said, the Joel Plaskett-produced album, Myles’ fourth, is really something. This one’s impossibly, effortlessly smooth. From halfway through its opener, the soft, poppy Out of Love, this thing has you. Also commendable is Myles’ ability to be smooth and satisfying within various styles; his highly listenable pop works as-is, as soft soul, as muted country and as other things. Turn Time Off is a trifecta of excellent writing, beautiful melodies and strong hooks.
