Win tickets from Herohill to see David Myles play at the Rebecca Cohn

April 18, 2013

Check out this snappy little preview of In the Nighttime from our friends at Herohill – and the details for their contest are below.

Here’s a little known fact: Every East Coaster loves David Myles, his smooth sounds and warm smile. Honestly, you could put that man’s face on a stamp or on some fancy 13 dollar coin and no one would object.

David’s been grinding for the last few years, but thanks to the shine he’s getting from his work on Classified’s inspirational anthem, the timing of his new release couldn’t be better. It’s hard to get more pre-release buzz than a Juno nod and heavy radio play, but David has earned any attention he gets.

Thankfully, In the Nighttime is the perfect release for David to win over this new audience. A double disc affair; David offers a heavy dose of classic sounding singer songwriter gems but also an EP worth of more uptempo dance numbers that build on the working relationship between Myles and Nova Scotia’s hardest working emcee.

To get you excited, Herohill is streaming the lead single, “How’d I Ever Think I Loved You.” The infectious hook and Classy’s production make this song a surefire Summer sing-along, which is surprising considering the subject matter. David uses a catchy melody to offset the hurt and anger of we all feel when we are forced to look back at a former lover. It would be easy to sound angry in this situation, but David makes sure this song never feels bitter. It’s all about moving on knowing you deserve better.

David is playing his first Halifax show in what seems like forever and it should be a magical night. He’ll be standing front and center and hopefully pulling out all the stops on May 9th at Rebecca Cohn. Herohill has two tickets to give to one lucky winner and all you need to do is send them your details – herohill AT gmail DOT COM – or leave your pertinents in the comment section at to have a chance to win. Sound easy? Exactly.
